What We Stock

Container Exchanger carries used and rebottled IBC totes in the two sizes that cover most industrial and agricultural buyers: 275 gallon and 330 gallon. Every tote listed here is a caged IBC — a plastic bottle in a steel cage on a pallet base — sourced from single-use and reconditioned supply, not off-brand knockoffs.

Available now:

  • 275 gallon and 330 gallon caged totes, poly bottle in a galvanized steel cage
  • Food-grade totes, cleaned and verified for food, beverage, and agricultural use
  • Rebottled totes, original cage with a new poly bottle — the fastest way to get a food-grade unit without buying new
  • Industrial/chemical-duty totes, previously held oils, cleaning concentrates, or process chemicals — priced lower for non-food reuse

275 vs 330 Gallon: Quick Comparison

Both sizes share the same industry-standard footprint and sit on a standard pallet, so they drop into the same rack slots and trailer layouts. The difference is height and hold volume. Dimensions below are commonly cited ranges — cage design, bottle wall thickness, and manufacturer add a few inches either way, so confirm exact dimensions on the listing before you plan tight rack or doorway clearances.

SPEC 275 GALLON 330 GALLON
Footprint ~40" x 48" (standard pallet footprint) ~40" x 48" (standard pallet footprint)
Overall Height commonly 45–46" commonly 52–53"
Empty (tare) Weight commonly 115–135 lbs commonly 135–155 lbs
Full Weight (water( ~2,500 lbs ~3,000 lbs

Best for tighter rack clearance, easier hand-truck moves, standard forklift bays maximizing volume per footprint, fewer totes per job.

Food-Grade & Previous-Contents Guidance

The question we hear most from buyers is simple: is there a way to know what these totes held before? Yes — and it matters more for some uses than others.

  • Food-grade listings are labeled as such, and mean the tote was verified clean and suitable for food, beverage, or agricultural liquid use — not just "looks clean."
  • Every listing notes prior contents or use category (food-grade, juice/syrup, water, non-hazardous industrial, chemical) so you're not guessing from a photo.
  • Rebottled totes solve the traceability problem outright — you get a known-new poly bottle on a reconditioned cage, which is the safest option if the tote is going anywhere near food, feed, or potable water.
  • For non-food use (water storage, rainwater collection, bulk liquid transport, secondary containment), a clean industrial tote is usually the better value — you don't need to pay the food-grade premium.
  • If your use case is regulated (food processing, agricultural chemical, potable water), ask before you buy. We'll tell you plainly what a given tote held and whether it's rated for your application — we'd rather lose a sale than sell you the wrong tote.

New vs Used IBC Totes

Not sure whether a used or rebottled tote covers your use case versus buying new? See New vs Used IBC Totes for the tradeoffs on cost, lead time, and cosmetic condition.

Freight & Pickup

Most orders ship nationwide via LTL freight; totes palletize efficiently and load a set number per truck depending on your dock and unloading equipment. Local pickup is available at participating locations if you're closer to a yard — that route avoids freight cost entirely and lets you inspect before loading.

  • Freight is quoted per order based on quantity, pallet count, and destination — get an accurate freight number before you commit, not a flat estimate.
  • Bulk orders (full or partial truckload) typically freight cheaper per unit than small orders — ask about volume pricing if you need 20+ totes.
  • Have a forklift or loading dock ready at delivery; these are pallet-based loads, not hand-unload items.
  • Selling instead of buying? We buy surplus IBC totes too — get a quote on your unused inventory below.
