Selecting the Ideal Plastic Pallet for Your Operations

Start with what you're loading. Plastic pallets in our inventory have a static capacity of up to 40,000 lbs and a dynamic capacity of up to 10,000 lbs, so matching the pallet to your load is step one.

From there, think about how it moves through your facility: whether you need 2-way or 4-way entry, nestable design for compact storage, rackable construction, or FDA-approved material for food and pharmaceutical applications.

Advantages of Plastic Pallet Over Wood

Plastic pallets don't absorb moisture, so they don't warp, swell, or rot after a wet season on a loading dock. They're also easier to clean. A quick wash and they're back in service. No splinters, no nails working loose, no pest treatment required.

For international shipping, that last point matters a lot. Wood pallets crossing borders need to meet ISPM-15 heat treatment requirements. Plastic pallets skip that entirely, which keeps cross-border shipments moving without delays.

Exploring Types of Plastic Pallets and Materials

The type of plastic pallet you need depends on how it moves through your operation. Solid top deck pallets offer a flat, even surface for smaller items that need full support. Mesh top decks are lighter and allow drainage, which suits food processing and outdoor environments. Nestable pallets stack inside each other when empty, saving floor space. Rackable pallets are reinforced to sit on rack beams without sagging under load.

Most plastic pallets are made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or polypropylene (PP). Both are durable, chemical-resistant, and easy to clean. HDPE handles heavier loads, while PP is lighter and common in food and pharmaceutical applications.
