Nesting totes are designed to collapse into each other when empty to save space on the return trip -- great for a closed-loop shipping cycle, but they generally can't be safely stacked full the way stacking totes can. If your totes live mostly on a shelf, go stacking; if they travel empty a lot, go nesting.
