What's the Difference Between Stacking Totes and Nesting Totes?
Stacking totes are designed to interlock and stack securely on top of each other when full, which is what you want for warehouse storage and order-picking shelves. Nesting totes are designed to collapse into each other when empty to save space on the return trip -- great for a closed-loop shipping cycle, but they generally can't be safely stacked full the way stacking totes can. If your totes live mostly on a shelf, go stacking; if they travel empty a lot, go nesting.
How Much Weight Can a Stacking Tote Hold?
It depends on size and wall thickness, but most industrial stacking totes handle anywhere from 40 to 150+ lbs of contents, with the stacked (loaded-on-loaded) capacity typically rated lower than the single-tote static capacity. Check the specific listing for both figures -- static capacity and stack capacity are usually reported separately because they're not the same number.
Are Stacking Totes Available in Different Colors or Are They Just for Organization?
